State of the Nation report on Children's Mental Wellbeing

The first ever state of the nation report on children's mental health and wellbeing has identified friendship, school and a good night's sleep as key factors in a young person's happiness.

More than 4 in 5 young people aged between 10-24 say they are happy with their lives, rating themselves happiest with their family and friends, their health, their school and their appearance.

The report compiles more than 7,000 responses from young people nationally, aged between 10-24 with these key headlines;

- 94% of children felt happy with their family, 91.6% happy with their friends and 94.5% felt they had good/very good health.

- 82.9% of the young people surveyed reported high - or very high, life satisfaction.

- Age is a clear factor of wellbeing; being older was associated with lower wellbeing.

- Young females were more likely to report that they were recently anxious than males.

Physical Activity Data Tool Update

The Physical Activity Data Tool has been updated earlier this month, to now include;

> Percentage of adults walking for travel at least 3 days per week

> Percentage of adults cycling for travel at least 3 days per week

The resource also includes information on related risk factors and conditions such as diabetes and obesity. The tool also uses the new local authority boundaries, and can be adjusted to display historical data under Suffolk's old Local Authority structure.
