Welcome to the July/August edition of our insight newsletter!

Some really interesting pieces to share with you in our latest newsletter, including a new publication from Public Health England and the Youth Sport Trust on What Works in Schools and Colleges to Increase Physical Activity; an extremely useful local insight tool developed by Sport England, as well as some interesting articles we've picked up over the last couple of months.

New Public Health England Report on Physical Activity in Schools and Colleges

This report from Public Health England with the Youth Sport Trust and the Association of Colleges Sport identifies key guidance and policy documents on increasing physical activity, together with practical, local examples to assist schools in developing evidence-based approaches.

The report focuses on 8 key principles: developing and delivering multi-component interventions, ensuring a skilled workforce; engaging student voice, creating active environments, offering choice and variety, embedding physical activity in the curriculum, teaching and learning, promoting active travel and embedding monitoring and evaluation of physical activity interventions.

New Sport England Local Insight Tool

Sport England has recently launched a brand new insight tool covering a variety of areas allowing data to be filtered at County and Local Authority level. It's an easy to use tool with a significant amount of data behind it - the area reports for each local authority are already on our website via; https://www.activesuffolk.org/local-authority-profiles
