parkrun
parkrun is a free, community event where you can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate. parkrun is 5k and takes place every Saturday morning. junior parkrun is 2k, dedicated to 4-14 year olds and their families, every Sunday morning.
parkrun is positive, welcoming and inclusive, there is no time limit and no one finishes last. Everyone is welcome to come along.
While of course, many people know that you can absolutely choose to do a parkrun and walk instead, there are people who still feel that they can't get involved if they do not run. This is a misconception that parkrun are keen to shut down! Getting involved in a parkwalk at parkrun is not just welcomed but if that's what you want to do - it's encouraged! Also, did you know - The total distance completed by parkrun Suffolk at their 10-year anniversary is 2,866,150km which is enough to travel from Suffolk to Australia, and back again over 95 times!
