SLT Group launch health, wellbeing and employment programmes to help those affected by Covid -19

SLT Group have launched their new batch of programmes to help those affected by COVID-19.

Have you recently been made redundant or are currently unemployed? The 'Positive Change' course is designed to empower adults to make a positive lifestyle change to assist them in breakings down barriers that you may face in getting into the labour market. The 10-week course will look to support individual needs, aims and targets throughout and will provide learners with key information and support needed to make that positive change.

The course is split between online learning and face to face delivery. The online delivery is series of videos and lecture style teaching. Our face to face workshops (socially distanced), allows learners to attend site and discuss any of the learning from the previous weeks and gain access to health and wellbeing support.

Matt Stebbings, Community Education Manager said "If you are nervous or lacking confidence about returning to indoor spaces, please let me reassure you that we have exclusive use to the fitness facility/studio space. This course is a blended learning course our face to face workshops expand on the at home learning and apply this to real life settings. There is also time to get hands on with the fitness facility in a safe and supportive environment."

The course covers the following split over 10 weeks; Gaining Health and Fitness Confidence and Goal Setting, Nutrition, Exercise Prescription, Physical Activity, Health and Behaviour Change, Employment Support, Next Steps and Further Support.

"I found the course extremely informative; Matt and the team were empathic with people's needs Everybody received the same amount of attention and were listened to; I felt the information was delivered clearly and with unconditional positive regard for all members. I felt extremely safe with the care taken to protect the group from COVID-19. I learned information that will aid me in moving forwards to become a healthier person. I now work as a mentor; I will definitely recommend the group to my clients." Michaela - Positive Change 2020 Learner.

FREE full all-inclusive fitness package across SLT GROUP on completion of the course is awarded for a period of time as well as access to facilities whilst attending the face to face workshops. In addition learners will receive a FREE home workout exercise equipment package worth £100*.
